How Would You Have to Change Your Thinking...?
I find this to be a pretty powerful question.
It forces you to reach beyond your limiting thoughts.
It's easy to default to overly critical thoughts. Our brains are wired to protect us. Therefore it's easier to question reaching beyond your comfort zone.
Maybe you desire to ask for that promotion. But your brain tells you, "Don't do it, Lisa - they're going to say no and then you'll look stupid."
Maybe you want to start your own business. But your brain tells you, "What makes you think that YOU can actually get a business going?"
Even though it's not necessarily what we want to hear, there is often a comfort to these discouraging thoughts. Because they keep us where we feel safe. They keep us from taking risks.
However, if you never take risks and never push yourself into feeling uncomfortable in order to grow, where does that get you?
Nowhere.
And that's okay if you're fine staying where you're at.
But if you desire to push yourself to see where you can go and the limits you can outreach, staying where you're at isn't enough.
So, ask yourself: How would you have to change your thinking in order to do that?
Give it a try - you might be surprised by what you come up with.
