Important Message for Those Affected by Layoffs

Laid Off

Laid off

To those affected by #layoffs, don't underestimate the importance of taking some time to focus on self-care and your mindset.

Take some time to process what you just went through and how you're feeling. It's mental decluttering. When your mind is cluttered, it can be difficult to focus and take action.

Tips for Mental Decluttering:

✅ Talk with someone. It can be a friend or mentor. You can get a group of people together who went through the same layoff as you did. Find a group on LinkedIn for those laid off. Talking through it can help process what happened, clear your mind, and help you to feel supported knowing that you're not going through this alone.

✅ Mind Dump. Write it out. Get it all out on paper. Every thought, feeling, cuss word, worry, fear - put it all down. Keep going until you run out of words. If needed, do it again the next day and the next day. This helps to release anxiety and fear, and free up your mind for more productive thoughts. When you have productive thoughts, it's easier to take action.

Use your support systems. Don't be afraid to ask for help or for a shoulder to lean on. It's a process and you'll get to where you need to go.
